Over 600 people were affected in the latest round of mass layoff by contact center company KGB Philippines. It turns out that their SMS account has been overloaded with agents without anything to do as industry demand slows down in the midst of the financial crisis.
The lay off was announced last February 9 at the KGB Sta. Rosa office with more than 600 agents affected. More details about this story here.

7used to work with the company before. training is good. but equipment sucks big time. avaya being used resembles an old xbbox model. people are okay. well not for some tl’s. most tl’s sucks like a****h*le. arrogant and with an ego as high as the building of rcbc. but some are okay. most esp the gay tl’s. they are cool and way accomodating. just be careful of the bond. i don’t know who came up with the idea of the stupid bond. and why you have to pay for it. they say it’s for the training and the facilities (like computer usage and electricity). just a tip if you want to get out once you are inside already. just always be late and absent. let the tl fire you for your attendance. then you don’t need to pay the bond. but if you resign properly with all the good reasons. like you have to take care of your child because of being sick. you get to pay the bond. it doesn’t make any Fu***cki** sense at all. the fu**cking bond is not even enough to compensate with the all irate and studip callers and not to mention the abuse language that you get from them. i resigned coz i have to take care of my son who was sick that time. what to do i get? nothing. no back pay. no anything. so to kgb. kill the fucking a-hole who implemented the bond. what happened to sta rose is just what you call “karma”. to those who would like to apply. go ahead. it’s your ass who’s on the line. i learned my leson well enough.

12This is the WORST company if your planning to apply here. After LAYING OFF 600 guys, they again TEMPORARILY LAYED OFF 200 regular employees for 6 months (imagine guys with no work for 6 months).
The WORST part of this TEMPORARY LAY OFF, It’s that your still attached to the company. If you choose to resign you will get NO SEPARATION PAY (boy they sure know how to CONSTRICT their employees neck’s ).
Can you go on for 6 MONTHS with no work and by just relying on their SCREW headed superiors game plan to SAVE the COMPANY?

14I wasted my 5 years in this company and I am so glad I was out of there before their layoff started. I was a Team Leader earning the most of my salary at around P19,000. Just imagine, no employee seminars, no education at work, forced OTs and available VTOs just to save the company’s staffing cost. They are more on saving their own company profit rather than saving their educated, productive and high-integrity employees. Here you will find half-brained ACCMs, Team Managers who got promoted for their efforts in be-friending one of ACCM’s girlfriend. Team Leaders who are known to be liabilities and gets to seek promotion as well in way that they know–kiss assing. They don’t value people. They value productivity without etiquette. Especially that Indian bastard , Ravi Dasari, who can’t even express himself in english yet promotes English Only in the WHOLE building. If you want to know how working in hell feels, try working in this company.

DA relies on their biggest provider, Sprint-Nextel, everyone in the Call Center Industry knows Sprint’s financial status and not long from now they will soon close. So don’t you guys believe their hollabaloos about strong accounts that they have. They are all bunch of loosers in the US. What more in the Philippines?

18hi! Im one of the employees here in the kgb SMS account, good thing im still here. Too carefull with my stats now coz i dont know what will happen next, yah it’s sad to know that the last lay off for thereg employees were not given a chance to transfer to DA account.
There’s a rumour that SMS account will be dissolve soon. Haisst, any company here offering text support?

19Are you sure you are from management? You don’t seem to know how the business is run. Forecasts are not made by HR.. they are made by workforce. Even a team lead knows that. Well, that being said, it’s a win-win situation for you and kgb that you left the company. It seems you don’t know what you’re talking about.
I wonder how come everything about kgb is generalized. There are different accounts in kgb and these accounts have different cultures and different ways on how the business is run. How come I don’t hear anything bad regarding the UK account? Regarding the SMS account, is it THAT bad? If it is, then how come some CSRs are willing to go back even if the company “mistreated” them? A lot are hoping the volume picks up so they could go back. If they had a bad experience with SMS, then why do they want to go back. This shows that SMS was run well and is just unfortunate that volume didn’t go up as expected.

21The TEMPORARY LAY-OFF this company imposed without the 30 day notice is very much ILLEGAL.
I did my own investigations and this company clearly violated the labor code.
“Be it Temporary or not the employees are still entitled to the 30 day notice according to the labor law.”
“What the company did is ILLEGAL”
Given this facts straight from a lawyers mouth is an amazing discovery and did some digging up with DOLE, I found that kgb passed a letter of notice to DOLE just the morning of the said lay-off. Meaning the they laid off their employees first before they passed the notice of LAY OFF to DOLE.

26i also have my bad experience with that company.. imagine we already done with the orientation then after that the one who’s conducting the orientation told us that we have to wait for a month til September to wait for the call.. what’s the matter with them… and the thing that really suck is they told that after we signed up for the contract.. its like they’re threatening us not to apply in other companies.. well all i wanna say is all you guys that is behind those issues (LAYOFF) AND THIS ONE.. die you blood sucker!!

32I used to have a TM who is so stupid to contact me to update me that my leave was not approved and I was marked absent for that shift. She could just send me an sms that I need to report for work for that night but hell no… The next day, she just told me that I was NCNS for 2 days. How great can it be?! Lots of TM also has no concern for their agents.

392 yrs csr ako sa kgb sta rosa USDA. walang kwenta talaga tong kumpanya na to. “we change lives daw” mga sira ulo sila! wag na kau mag apply dito. tinatapos ko lang ang cutoff ng sahod babay na ko!!!! puro pahirap sa csr! premier na nga lang hinaharang pa. e bobo ung caller ano magagawa mo? not asking street daw. e iisa lang naman un dun. e2 pa monotonous e d sana 10 calls mo monotonous. at eto pa, pag pumasa ka sa 10 calls mo, monitor ka ulit para hanapan ng mali… yan galing yan sa QA na barkada ko. cge nga ideny nyo! ang lead para na dn csr. anu yun? kabobohan talaga! isa lang ang magandang sulusyon dyan… MASS RESIGNATION!!!!!!
